Purchased this book for my 9 year old granddaughter for Christmas. She loved it and so did her mom. The quotes are perfect to inspire a young lady. The designs are great and I enjoy coloring it with her. I highly recommend this coloring book. Great price, too!

I purchased this for my niece's 8th b-day with an obnoxious amount of gel pens. I wanted to get her something that was encouraging and inspiring because I think it's important for young girls to develop a healthy sense of self. This coloring/activity book was just what I was looking for without being too cheesy or having so much positivity it is vomit-inducing and unrealistic.

As a mobile therapist, I require a huge library of coloring books for boys & girls alike. This has been one of my most popular among my kiddos! As a therapist i love the inspirational quotes & bold designs, making them awesome pieces for kiddos to display at home or in their lockers proudly. Appropriate for all ages & coloring abilities. I love them myself too :) pages are blank on the back, leaving room for drawing & name signing if need be.

I got this book for my 11 year old daughter. She hasn’t received it yet, but I know she will love it. I as a mother absolutely love it. I love how positive the coloring pages are. There is also a positive quote on the back of each page. I may just have to purchase one for myself.

I like other books from this author. But I no not like this one. I do not like anything about this particular book. I wish I could return it.

Bought as a Christmas present for my 8 year old niece who is already struggling with hating her freckles and strawberry blonde hair. I hope when she sits down to color, she reads the message and takes it all in. She's too young to be struggling with self images already, I hope this coloring book empowers her!

I had hi hopes for this coloring book. It seemed to have good messages for girls. However, the pages shown in the photos are the best pages. The rest of the book is not that great, it is just okay.

I do not know why this series is called erotica, is it just because it is m/m because that does not automatically make a book erotica! Erotica is meant to titillate, excite, and be sexy AF! While I do think Damen and Laurant have chemistry, so much of the book is just as I described in Captive Prince - two fighters circling each other trash talking but still very hands off. And then lots of riding to new villages/castles, chasing down the enemy, politics, battles, backstabbing...all of which is action-filled but its very minimal on "erotica" or romance.But Chapter 19, oh Chapter 19, you earned this book its extra star. When she does write romance and sex, she writes it well, just wish there was a little more of their love story and fewer power plays. Its a bit like Game of Thrones minus the dragons and all the sex, which is really just our heroes playing an elaborate chess game to win the Iron Throne.

“To get what you want, you have to know exactly how much you are willing to give up.”I was pleasantly surprised by the first book in this trilogy, but that was nothing compared to how much I loved the second installment. Everything that I enjoyed in Captive Prince was magnified in Prince's Gambit, plus the character development was everything I wanted and more.“That’s right, I’m still captured,’ said Damen.‘Your eyes say, “For now,”’ Laurent said. ‘Your eyes have always said, “For now.”While reading the first book, I literally thought to myself, "There is no way I could ever like Laurent!" Wow, was I wrong. Of course he did terrible things in the first book, and nobody is denying that, but the lighter shades of his moral greyness come to light in Prince's Gambit. There is so much more to Laurent than meets the eye: he is wickedly intelligent, always a step ahead of his foes, and puts so much more on the line than anyone realizes. There is a motive behind every move he makes, and watching these things come out in the open, as well as seeing Damen's reactions to learning that this man he travels with isn't only a cruel snake, is so incredibly captivating.“Because a king maker would always choose the weaker man. The weaker the man, the easier he is to control.”Damen, of course, is just as lovable as he was in the beginning; from the very start of Prince's Gambit, he is putting himself on the line for people he owes nothing to, simply because he's such a kind-hearted individual. His homesickness is still heavy, but it begins to mingle with so many other emotions as he finally garners the respect of not only the Veretians he travels with, but Laurent, too. The first moment in which we see Laurent treat Damen as a confidante is such a warm, tangible thing. ❤“Stop enjoying yourself," Damen murmured. "We're going to be killed, any minute.""Giant animal," said Laurent."Stop it.”As far as the romance goes, if you couldn't guess from the first book, this is one hell of a slow burn, but it's so lovely to watch the two men shift from sworn enemies to something more. I've always been a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope, and this is one of the best executions of that trope I've ever seen. Their banter absolutely kills me and I could read books on end just of Laurent smarting off to Damen.I could gush for ages, really, but I'll just say that I cannot recommend this series highly enough - if you can handle the tougher sides of the content. There's not nearly as much abuse in book 2 as there was in book 1, but it is still present in some areas, so please proceed with caution. Meanwhile, I'm off to binge read the finale!

The Captive Prince Trilogy is one long story. You need to read all three books in order: Captive Prince, Prince’s Gambit, and Kings Rising. Book 1 was good. Book 2 was the best. I did not like Book 3. The ending of Book 3 was good - it was happy for the main characters. But prior to the end Book 3 was mostly frustrating feelings and a couple of stupid events. I put an example in Spoiler below. Books 1 and 2 had more interesting strategies and events. Book 3 was no fun.The story is mostly about military, wars and politics in two countries/kingdoms. There are a lot Machiavellian strategies, conflicts and trickery. Other adjectives to describe the story: enslavement, rape, torture, sexual depravity. Gay male sex is talked about a lot. Both countries have sex slaves and other slaves.Laurent is a 20-year-old prince soon to be made king of Vere. His uncle is the current Regent but plans to kill Laurent so he can stay in power. They are master manipulators working against each other. Laurent appears to be evil, cold and intriguing. There is a lot of mystery about him.Damen is a prince from Akielos. Damen’s brother Kastor took over the Akielos throne and sent Damen to Vere to be a slave.I don’t know the author’s inspirations, but I imagine the following could have been inspirations: David Bowie for Prince Laurent, his country Vere being like Italy, valuing art and beauty. Gerard Butler in the movie 300 would be Damen. His country Akielos similar to Sparta.SEX:Throughout the books characters talk a lot about men having sex with men, teenage boys, and male slaves. These are references to sex not detailed explicit sex scenes, but this keeps sex frequently in the reader’s mind. Most of it is male-male sex but there is one male-female sex scene.The total number of sex scenes for all three books is about 6: 3 short scenes, 3 longer scenes, and many references to sex having happened. In one scene two men are forced to wrestle naked on stage with the winner raping the loser.TORTURE:There is a whipping torture scene in Book 1. A couple torture scenes are referred to in Book 3.CAUTION SPOILER:An example of a Book 3 stupid event: someone surrendering himself without good reason to an enemy who will kill him, then luck saves the day. The logic for this did not fit the character’s logic and abilities in the first two books.END SPOILER.DATA:Narrative mode: 3rd person. Story length: about 947 pages includes all 3 books. At first, Owen found an unexpected common ground between very different people: stockbrokers danced with transvestites, pacifier-sucking "club kids" with celebrities, thick-necked jocks with misfits. But as money flowed into the clubs, the music darkened, the drugs intensified, and the carnival spiraled out of control. Four men defined the scene, all of them outsiders, who saw in clubland the chance to escape their pasts and reinvent themselves by making their own rules. Peter Gatien rose from a small Canadian milltown to become the most powerful club operator in America; Michael Alig, a gay misfit from the midwest, escaped to Manhattan where he won a legion of fashion-and-drug enamored followers; Lord Michael Caruso left Staten Island's bars for the rave parties of England, returning as clubland's leading drug dealer and techno music pioneer; and Chris Paciello began as a brutal Bensonhurst gang member, then recast himself as the glamorous prince of Miami Beach, partying with Madonna and Jennifer Lopez at the exclusive nightspots he created. Each of them had secrets that led them over the edge, and when when clubland fell, it left behind tragic human consequences: the disillusioned, the strung out, and the dead.

To anyone who's ever wondered what went on in the 1990s' most notorious nightclubs, Village Voice reporter Owen has a highly engaging answer. He weaves together three strands of masterful reporting, focusing on Peter Gatien, the nightclub impresario who owned Limelight and the Tunnel in Manhattan; Chris Paciello, the gangster who started Miami Beach's Liquid; and "club kid king" Michael Alig, the party promoter and Gatien employee who murdered his friend Angel Melendez. Alig's drug-addled story is the most grotesque and chilling: a few weeks before he hacked off the legs of his dead friend, he had thrown a "Blood Feast" party in which some guests "came covered in raw liver and slabs of beef." The author has apparently settled down now; "life is too precious to waste spending your time lurking around VIP rooms and getting high." At one time, though, he was a true believer in clubs and raves "as perfect but temporary democracies of desire," and is saddened by the crime that came to surround them. He has a distinctive writing style, recklessly mixing metaphors-one woman is "the proverbial tough cookie laced with arsenic straight from the pages of a hard-boiled novel"-and packing his chapters with noirish "wise guys" and "feds." It's a treat for fans of true crime, but armchair party animals will also appreciate the lengths to which this reporter goes-the book opens with Owen seeking, buying and tripping on the drug ketamine.

Ah, club culture! Was it really all glamour, heroin, and flashing lights? Owen considers that and other questions in his contribution to the continuing story of sex and drugs and rock and roll. He has a lot to work with, including real-life Pulp Fiction characters like Michael Alig, nowadays "stoned and puffy with jail food fat," but "the prince of perversion" when he was a party promoter in high demand. Alig had equally alluring playmates, of course--Mafia dandies, drug lords, and zany "club kids"--but his career screeched to a halt when he "chopped up his buddy's body." Owen came to his subject as a result of a Village Voice assignment to do an article on ketamine, an animal anesthetic and clubgoers' "mind-bending party favor." One thing led to another, and presto!--this chronicle-cum-true crime story in the gaudy, Mardi Gras-like trappings of a phenomenon that straddled the disco and rave cultures.
